All NBuses are now bike friendly

The convenience of being able to take your bike on Council’s NBus service has been extended to the local Nelson routes.

The smaller buses that service the Atawhai, Victory, Brook and Washington Valley routes are now also sporting the bright yellow bike racks, the same type as already in use on the Nelson/Richmond route.

The extra cycle racks have been provided by SBL Ltd, the company that operates the service on Council’s behalf.

Tony Cumming, Manager of SBL says, “We wanted to provide the racks as they seemed like a worthwhile enhancement to the service.  They’ve been well used on the Nelson to Richmond service so we’re pleased to offer them on our local routes too.”

Councillor Gail Collingwood, Infrastructure portfolio holder says, “The cycle racks have proved very popular so it’s great to see them extended throughout the network. It’s another good reason for people to give NBus a try today.”
