Heritage Project Fund

Nelson City Council has, in the past, provided a Heritage Project Fund - a contestable fund providing grants to encourage the conservation of buildings, objects and sites of heritage value.

Grants were available to maintain, repair, restore, stabilise and for the procurement of advice and work for seismic strengthening.

As part of its decision-making on the Annual Plan for the 2023-24 financial year, Council decided to end the Heritage Project Fund grants scheme. As a result, property owners can no longer apply to the Council for a grant to maintain, repair, restore, stabilise or to procure advice and work for seismic strengthening of heritage buildings, objects and sites of heritage value.
