Nayland Road Watermain renewal

Nayland Road watermain work Map

Contractor: Ching Contracting
Project Manager: Nelson City Council
Budget:  $200,000
Status: Complete
Time frame: 7 weeks

This project was completed on schedule in June 2016.

What we are doing

Council is replacing a watermain along the western side of Nayland Road from Langbein Street to Rosebank Terrace.

Why we are doing it

The existing watermain along Nayland Road is nearing the end of its serviceable life so it is being replaced. This will reduce the likelihood of a failure occurring. This work has been bought forward to align with Councils 2016/17 road resealing programme to ensure the amount of roadworks in your area is minimised.

Duration

Work on site will be from 18 April until the end of June 2016 (approximately seven weeks).

Traffic conditions

Speed restrictions of 30km/h will be in place for both worker and public safety. Footpath closures will be needed on the western side while the excavation is taking place. Where access to individual properties is to be restricted, Council and/or its Contractor will make direct contact with the affected properties to provide relevant information.
