Stoke water main renewals
|Project Manager:||Nelson City Council|
|Time frame:||6 months|
What we are doing
Council is replacing water pipelines along Maitland Ave, Ngaio Street and Koromiko Ave.
Why we are doing it
The existing water mains in these areas are nearing the end of their serviceable life and are to be replaced by new pipes. This will reduce the likelihood of a failure occurring in the future and the amount of maintenance needed on the lines.
Work on site will be from October and is due to be finished by April 2017.
Speed restrictions of 30km/h may be enforced at times for both worker and public safety. Footpath closures will be required throughout the work site while the excavation is taking place. Where access to individual properties is to be restricted, Council and/or its Contractor will contact affected properties directly.
