Strategic Housing Adviser
The Strategic Housing Adviser is responsible for working towards Council’s goal to help increase housing supply in Nelson. They provide strategic advice to Council, on the Council’s housing objectives including:
- How Council can support increased housing supply and intensification
- Allocating the funds in Council’s Housing Reserve so they can support affordable housing projects
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with housing providers, developers, consultants, and others who work in Nelson’s development sector.
- Identifying Council property with the potential to be transformed into affordable housing
- Working alongside Kainga Ora and other providers to achieve Council’s housing goals
