Temporary Road Closure - Rata Street

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Fulton Hogan to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:

Rata Street - full length

Date and time of scheduled closure: Monday 20 January to Friday 31 January 2025 – 7:00 am to 6:00 pm (the road will be closed for one day only within this timeframe)

Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Saturday 1 February to Friday 28 February 2025 - 7:00 am to 6:00 pm (the road would be closed for one day only within this timeframe – weather dependent)

The closure is for chip sealing (resealing the surface of the road)

Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be affected by this closure. This work is being completed in conjunction with work on Brook Street & Westbrook Terrace.

Work will begin at the intersection with Seymour Avenue on Brook Street, with access provided via Westbrook Terrace, and then vice versa.

As work progresses along the road and the first layer of chip has been applied, resident access will be managed by onsite staff. Delays are likely.

No roadside parking will be available. Rubbish and recycling bin collection will be managed by onsite staff and pedestrian access will be provided safely.
