Temporary Road Closure - Washington Road/St Vincent Street Roundabout (NIGHTWORKS)
Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Fulton Hogan to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:
NIGHTWORKS
Washington Road/St Vincent Street Roundabout - and associated arterial (connecting) streets:
- Washington Road – between Arrow Street and St Vincent Street
- Hastings Street – between Washington Road and Pioneer Crescent
- Watson Street – full length
- St Vincent Street – between Natalie Street and the Countdown carpark
- Gloucester Street – between St Vincent Street and Vanguard Street
Date and time of scheduled closure: Sunday 9 February to Friday 21 February 2025 – 7:00 pm to 5:00 am (the roads will be closed overnight only – open during the day)
Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Sunday 2 March to Friday 14 March 2025 – 7:00 pm to 5:00 am (the roads will be closed overnight only – open during the day)
The closure is for resealing the surface of the road with asphalt.
Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available as normal during the day. At night, resident access will be managed by onsite staff. Delays are likely. This will allow time for the asphalt to dry as work progresses along the road.
No roadside parking will be available. Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal during the day, and pedestrian access will be provided at all times.
As this is a night closure the eBus will not be affected and will operate as normal.
