Mountain range panorama over Tasman Bay
The names of the peaks making up the stunning mountain silhouette across Tasman Bay are featured in a panorama image. The image below is only part of the spectacular vista.
The panorama is the same as a stainless steel plaque on Wakefield Quay near the yacht club. It includes the names of the mountains and hills and some information on their origin, and their height.
The idea came when an Atawhai resident asked Council how she could get information on the name of the range she watched the sun slip behind each night. Council staff sourced a panorama image created by Garry Holz, now retired from the Department of Conservation. He and the Department have generously given permission for it to be reproduced for everyone to enjoy.
