Approved Temporary Road Closure - Trafalgar Street

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Donaldson Civil to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:

Trafalgar Street – at the Northern side of the Halifax Street intersection

Date and time of scheduled closure: Wednesday 2 April to Friday 4 April 2025 – starting at 9:00 am on the first day and finishing at 5:00 pm on the last day (this is a 24 hour closure)

Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Monday 7 April to Wednesday 9 April 2025 – starting at 9:00 am on the first day and finishing at 5:00 pm on the last day (this is a 24 hour closure)

The closure is for potholing investigations in preparation for the upcoming watermain upgrade.

• Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and customers will be available – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are likely.
• No roadside parking will be available. Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal and pedestrian access will be provided safely.
• The Route 3 eBus will be detoured via Wainui Street with two temporary bus stops placed on this street for the duration of the closure – please see ebus.nz for further details.
