(Proposed) Temporary Road Closure - Airlie Street and Seafield Terrace
Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Asphalt and General to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:
- Airlie Street – from no.5 Airlie Street to the junction with Seafield Terrace
- Seafield Terrace – from the junction with Airlie Street to the Athol Street intersection
Date and time of scheduled closure: Monday 28 April to Friday 9 May 2025 – 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Weather contingency is included in the dates above
The closure is for installation of a drain along the base of the hillside to help manage water runoff and prevent flooding.
- Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available for most of the time – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are likely.
- There will be a period of up to 3 hours during the closure (when the concrete truck is onsite) when there will be no access - the contractor will provide residents with 2 days’ notice via an additional letter drop.
- No roadside parking will be available. Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal and pedestrian access will be provided.
To understand how this closure could impact residents/businesses, Council is seeking feedback on this proposal by 21 April 2025
Feedback can be sent:
