eBus detour - Halifax Street, Collingwood Street watermain upgrade
Contractors will soon begin work on the watermain upgrade across Collingwood Street and Halifax Street. As a result, the ebus service will be detoured for three months from 24 March to the end of June, as detailed below.
Route 1: Buses will continue down Rutherford Street into the interchange. This will exclude bus stops on Selwyn Place and Collingwood Street.
Route 3: From Halifax Street, Route 3 will divert via Haven Road, Queen Elizabeth II Drive, continue down Trafalgar Street before turning left onto Wainui Street. Bus stops at Trafalgar Park and Kingsgate Motel will be closed, and a temporary stop will be set up at the Trafalgar end of Wainui Street.
Route 4: From Nile Street, buses will continue down Selwyn Place, excluding the bus stops on Collingwood Street. There will be a temporary bus stop near the intersection of Selwyn Place and Collingwood Street. This is to service the bus stop closest to Prices Pharmacy, which is a popular stop. This stop is usually serviced by Route 1. However, anyone who boards Route 4 will have a free transfer to Route 1 at the interchange.
