Meeting Livestreams and Recordings

To keep Nelsonians informed about our activities, Nelson City Council livestream and record certain meetings. You will be notified which meetings are being recorded by a sign posted before you enter the Council chamber. The recordings of livestreamed meetings will be available on YouTube.

The livestream and recording will capture members speaking and debating, as well as anyone speaking during the public forum to an item and moving around the Council chambers. By recording these meetings, we may collect and publish personal information, such as a person's voice or image.

Where we do collect personal information (by recording a person’s face or voice), this will be collected, stored and published in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

This applies only to Nelson City Council meeting footage, not to footage taken by any other entity (including the media).
