Heavy Rain Warning - Orange

An Orange heavy rain warning has been issued for Nelson this Thurs 3 April. Prepare for heavy rainfall and the possibility of rapidly rising rivers, streams and surface flooding. Please clear gutters and roadside grates to keep storm drains clear. We will share updates here and on our Facebook page.

Waste Minimisation Grants

Please note that all grants are currently on hold, and the dates will be advised.

In line with our Waste Managementand Minimisation Plan, Nelson City Council has a range of waste minimisation grants available to our community. All activities are assessed against the waste hierarchy (the waste hierarchy priorities avoid, reduce, reuse, repair before activities such as recycling and recovering. Waste of course is right at the bottom of the pile).

Assessment criteria are provided for each programme.
