2023/24 Warmer Kiwi Homes Programme & Warmer Healthier Homes Trust

Grants available for free home insulation

“Warmer Kiwi Homes” is a Government-funded programme offering insulation that aims to make homes warmer, drier and healthier. EECA provides 80%-90% of the cost of insulation for homes that comply with certain criteria. A local Trust called “Warmer Healthier Homes Te Tauihu Charitable Trust” (WHH) can issue top-ups to cover the remaining cost (up to 100%) for eligible residents and Community Services card holders.

What is the criteria?

• homeowner permanently occupies the home; and
• the home was built before the year 2008; and
• the home does not have adequate insulation; and
• the homeowner has a Community Services Card or SuperGold combo card, OR the home is in an area identified as lower-income.

Currently there are two EECA preferred providers that offer the government grant. Please contact:
