What is A Resource Consent?
A Resource Consent is the official authorisation from a local council, under the Resource Management Act (RMA), for an activity that might affect the environment that is not allowed ‘as of right’ in the district or regional plan.
It is a document that gives you permission to carry out an activity, and sets out any conditions that you are required to comply with.
