Once you have gathered and prepared all your information it is time to lodge your application with the Council.
Need help to get ready?
You do not have to use the prescribed Application Form, but we strongly recommend it, or at the least you need to ensure all the same information is provided.
Your application should include:
- Application form filled out, including your contact details and those of any agent/consultant working on your behalf
- Identification of Consent Type and its Classification
- Identification of the relevant planning rules under which you are applying for consent.
- A certificate of Title for the property involved– recent copy within 3 months
- A description of the activity and associated Plans
- An Assessment of Effects – to show what you are applying for and its effects
- Any Written Approvals you may wish to provide (optional)
- Any conditions you may wish to submit for consideration (optional)
- Initial payment/deposit
Subdivision consents should also include:
- A detailed scheme plan
- Information contained in section AD 8.3 of the Nelson Resource Management Plan.
To lodge your application email the above information to rcadmin@ncc.govt.nz or ResourceConsentsAdmin@ncc.govt.nz or you can drop off paper copy at Council’s Customer Service Centre (we prefer email).
Large files can be sent separately via downloadable dropbox links or similar.
Once your application is received a Resource Consent number will be allocated and an email will be sent to you confirming the number (RMyr5xxx) and the $ amount and payment details for the initial deposit. This cost varies depending on the type of consent. See Fees and Charges.
The processing ‘clock’ will start once consent is lodged and payment received.
The consent will then be allocated to a planner, who will do an initial s88 RMA assessment to check for completeness within 10 working days.
