Certificate of Title

A Certificate of Title (CT) of no more than three months old must be provided with your application, it should include a Title Plan. This document confirms ownership details, size and dimensions of the property, legal history, and possible limitations or restrictions on the title (e.g. covenants).

A Certificate of Title can be ordered online from LINZ.govt.nz for a small fee. They email it to you. Please choose Title with Diagram.

FAQ - Are applications confidential?

No. Once you've lodged your application with Council, it becomes public information and any member of the public can ask Council for a copy of your application. Council may agree to keep some material private if it is commercially sensitive – please clearly identify that material – otherwise it is public if anyone asks.
