Launched in late 2010, Top of the South Maps is a collaboration between Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council, drawing on expertise in both Councils to deliver a service that seamlessly combines the regions data into one user-friendly website based on the popular Google Maps.

Refer to the following instructions to use Top of the South Maps on a mobile device.

The following information for both the Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council areas is currently available on Top of the South Maps:

    • Places of Interest (playgrounds, toilets etc.)
    • Reserves and Parks
    • Walking and Biking Tracks
    • Dog Exercise Areas
    • Cemetery records
    • Prow Stories

    • Stormwater, Wastewater and Water network
    • Bus Routes
    • Rubbish and Recycling Collection
    • Street lights
    • Survey
  • Planning
    • Resource Managment Plans
