Anjela Sharma

My principal place of residence is in the Nelson City Council - At Large area.

My name is Anjela Sharma, and I have put myself forward for election on Nelson City Council.

My husband and I have resided in Nelson since 1993. We have six adult / teenage children.

I operate an employment consultancy, and litigation practice in central Nelson. I have qualifications in law, alternate dispute resolution (mediation / arbitration), workplace investigations, and am near completing a Prof Grad Diploma in Accounting. I'm a trained Registered General / Obstetric Nurse.

I'm experienced in collaborative decision making at governance level, from working with local community organisations. I believe that female gender diversity brings balance to strategic collaborative decision making, and driving positive change.

My focus includes, but is not limited to - supporting local business, living near the Nelson Richmond boundary could benefit from more voice, to serve that domain, and highly motivated in maintaining Nelson City Council's good employer image, including the management of its Nelmac employees.
