Proposed Temporary Road Closure - Martin Street & Point Road

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Powertech to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:

Martin Street - between no.69 and no.87

Point Road - between no.104 and no.107

Date and time of scheduled closure: Wednesday 27 November to Friday 6 December 2024 – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Contingency included in the above dates

The closure is for excavation to safely replace streetlight cables.

Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are possible. No roadside parking will be available within the closure zones. Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal and pedestrian access will be provided safely.

To understand how this closure could impact residents/businesses, Council is seeking feedback on this proposal by Monday 25 November 2024.

The decision on whether the road will be closed will be advertised on the Council's website, www.nelson.govt.nz. Residents/businesses in the affected areas will also be informed via a letterbox drop.
